How To Configure Smtp Server In Windows 8

JFSC

Since incoming (Popular) works but approachable (SMTP) doesnt it may be Bellsouth.  IN whatever instance since it is settings related you need to deal with them.  These are the correct popular settings for outlook.com but I doubtable they will not help

If you'd like to manage your Outlook business relationship using an email app, you lot'll need to set upwards your POP3 or SMTP server and port settings in your electronic mail app. Yous'll need the post-obit info:

POP3 server: pop3.live.com (port 995)
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (port 25)

If port 25 has been blocked in your network or past your Isp, you lot tin set the SMTP port to 587 with TLS or SSL Encryption (depending on which electronic mail app you lot're us

Choose the Secure Sockets L ayer (SSL) option for both POP3 and SMTP connections.
Choose the SMTP hallmark for SMTP connections.
Cull the outgoing server requires hallmark option. (In most email apps, this option isn't checked by default.)

User name: Enter your total electronic mail address.
Countersign: Enter your Microsoft account password.
If you don't want email messages to be permanently deleted from your inbox after you lot download them to your mail service program, select the Leave a re-create of messages on the server pick.

Forbid losing email in Outlook.com when you've ready POP3

Outlook.com has a feature that prevents losing email messages if you lot accidentally prepare upwards POP3 to delete them after reading them on the server. Hither'due south how it works:

The first time that Outlook.com receives a POP3 instruction to delete e-mail messages after reading from an email app, Outlook.com won't delete the messages. Instead, Outlook.com moves the email messages that were successfully downloaded by the email app into a POP folder and out of the inbox. The POP folder is available in the Folders list.

Outlook.com keeps the email letters in the POP folder until yous sign in to your Outlook.com account and verify whether Outlook.com should respect or ignore the POP3 delete control.

To verify your POP3 settings:

In the upper-right of the Outlook.com window, click Options, and then click More than options.
Under Managing Your Account, click Pop and deleting downloaded messages, and and so select one of the following:

Don't let some other program delete messages from Outlook.com. (If your other program is set to delete messages from the server, we'll simply move them to a special Pop folder. They won't be deleted.)

Do what my other plan says—if it says to delete messages, so delete them.

Click Save.

Give thanks you for the lengthy response but this didn't help.   I worked on this for two days and finally had to movement on to get other work done.

As I said, the incoming connection/setting works fine.  I finally got a tech at AT&T who listened.  She helped me suit a setting with the router and set up the approachable server with AT&T'southward setting not Comcast.  It worked.  One time.  I sent an outgoing bulletin.  When I got off the phone with her I started to motility everything dorsum to my desk.  I asunder the router to motility it back where it goes and when I reconnected, the outgoing server wasn't working anymore.  Called AT&T over again and every tech I accept spoken to since tells me (rudely) that it isn't their problem.  I withal do not have performance email in Outlook.
